Fiona Gabrielle (Fish) Stewart was welcomed into the world on August 22, 1972 in Mesa, AZ. The third child born to Boyce J. Fish and Grace Urie Fish. She was a vivacious beauty, with blue eyes and golden hair. She has an older sister Stephanie (Fish) Ashcroft and an older brother, Linden Urie Fish. Also a younger brother, Christian Urie Fish. She was born into a family that has a large extended family , concentrated in the Rocky Mountain states. She is survived by her parents, her siblings and many cousins. She is blessed with a legacy of forbear pioneers. The Fish families were established in Massachusetts in the 1600's. The Horace Fish family was converted to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Hatley, Quebec, Canada in 1837. This family along with several others, were joined in their journey to Nauvoo, Illinois, arriving there in 1840. In 1846 they were driven from their homes across the Mississippi in winter, causing much hardship. After spending two years at Winter Quarters, on the Missouri River, near Omaha. They crossed the plains to Salt Lake City, arriving there in 1850. The family moved from Salt Lake City to Parowan, Utah, where Horace and Hanna lived out their lives. Joseph Fish the son of Horace moved his family to Arizona in the early 1870's. Fiona attended school at Emerson, Carson Junior High School and Westwood. She also took several courses at Mesa Community College. She was a good athlete and could hit a soft ball about as hard as her male friends. She was interested in diving as was tutored by a relative Keith Russell who was a former medal winner in the Olympics. Although she did not have an advanced education she was a good writer. Through the years she wrote for pleasure and carried on much correspondence. Fiona traveled with her family to the Black Hills of South Dakota. Later to the Yellowstone National Park. In 1987 the family flew to London, England. After renting a car she was able to travel to many parts of England, including the Cathedral at Canterberry. Also Windsor Castle, the Tower Bridge and many other notable places. But this trip was to return to the homeland of her mother, Bonnie Scotland. Fiona was able to meet many of her cousins for the first time. This has been a lasting relationship of frienship and caring. Fiona had a shortened life dying at age 32. She leaves two beautiful daughters, Chelsea and Hayley, ages 14 and 12. She was loved by all that knew her. The services will be held at 828 N. Westwood in Mesa on Friday July 8th. The viewing will be at the church at 9:00 a.m. with the funeral service commencing at 10:00 a.m. The interment will be held at the Lakeside cemetery on Larson Road in Lakeside, Arizona, at 12:00 noon Saturday the 9th. Services handled by Wyman Creamation & Burial Chapel.
